The Duke Police and the Office of New and Communications provide regular "Police News", but you can also find late breaking emergency news, severe weather notices, and transportation alerts. OIT can help if you are concerend about securing your computer or file sharing and computer viruses. You can view a list of current IT alerts and updates.


Duke has its own Police Department who offer many services, including working special events... and providing a range of crime prevention workshops and outreach programs to help keep the Duke community safe and secure.

Safety Training

Duke offers training in the handling of hazardous materials, CPR and basic EMS certification, as well as community and educational safety programs.

Disability Management

With Duke’s emphasis on diversity we strive to provide all people the same options and accessibility, whether in classrooms, dorms & offices or parking. Duke also offers disability assistance in academics or on the web. And the Duke libraries provide extensive array of  accessibility resources and information.

Workers' Compensation

On-the-job safety is a crucial component to daily activity at Duke, but accidents do happen, and when they do, visit Duke's Workers' Compensation to determine how to report them and what steps to follow.

Duke Van Services

Duke's fleet of vans provides free transportation to employees and students in specified service areas where Duke Transit buses are not available. The vans offer an alternative to walking alone or in isolated areas of campus.
