Duke University Credit Union (DUFCU) is a non-profit financial cooperative, owned and operated by and for its members.

Duke promotes sustainability throughout all aspects of the university  from purchasing to transportation and water conservation to the Smart Home.  Duke's Sustainability site has information on all of these areas.

Tax Topics

Employee Travel and Reimbursement serves as your primary contact for questions or issues related to employee and student reimbursements.


Payroll Services provides services for the Duke University and Medical Center community including issuing checks for salary, fellowship and scholarship, and fringe benefit charges; executing voluntary payroll deductions, distributing W-2, 1042 and 1099 forms; providing wage verification requests from mortgage companies or governmental agencies; and offering training for payroll representatives and management.


Electronic commerce (e-commerce) provides a convenient way for consumers and businesses to accept payments for conference registrations, gifts, the purchase of goods and services, and more.


The Bursar's Office serves the student community by assisting students with their bursar accounts and by functioning as a depository for the University's departments. The Bursar's Office mails statements to students on a regular basis, manages the collection of the student receivables, and records departmental deposits.


Philanthropic support helps provide financial aid for Duke's need-blind admissions policy and fund a wide range of ongoing needs and new initiatives across Duke's schools and programs. Duke's endowment assets are managed by DUMAC, LLC, a professionally-staffed investment organization controlled by Duke University.

Internal auditing is an independent appraisal activity established within Duke University and Duke Medicine to examine and evaluate its activities.

Research Compliance & Reporting

Financial Services offers information and resources for post-award administration of sponsored funds and the compliance and reporting requirements for these funds, which are coordinated by the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) and Research Costing Compliance (RCC). You can also find a host of training programs and courses for managing sponsored funds.  Institutional Ethics and Compliance offers additional support and resources for research compliance.
